Garden

Modest tentative gestures, catalysed by a novel faith.

So desired - delicate seedlings, improbably germinate.

Past ghosts surface, giving rise to malicious wraith.

Pure seed and soil, crucial to survival; lest terminate.

Summer solstice never arrives, tempests ever present.

Shadows still silently slither across even a swept path.

Fruit seasonal; never coronated - caste always peasant.

Sustaining growth the challenge: ever looming epitaph.

Learned prudence is tending perpetual; the forever vigil,

balance nurture with restraint: equally to flower and root.

Hardships too oft linger, wisdom implores remain civil,

reflective time in your garden, such honourable pursuit.

Curator's lot: not monthly, nor weekly, but by the hour.

Inspired hope for foliage green laced with periodic colour,

of brightness rich and contrasting, not stained by pallor.

To seek mastery is folly; persistence is dignified power.
