Winter

Orange hues and flaming pinks stealthily depart

sporadic breeze becomes dispassionate gale 

interactions clipped, distant, bereft of heart

once utterly inconceivable; such a bond fail?

Seasons change; that before irrevocably altered

evidently for the worse, if not diligently watered

foundations thought immutable...found so fallible

once my everything: perversely no longer tolerable.
