Friendship

When the full moon leans over the water,

I think of friendship—how it finds us

in unexpected tides,

silvering the edges of ordinary nights.

My closest friends are the ones

who bring calm to my energy,

gentle to my bold,

lightness to my focus—

together, we create a harmony

greater than any single note.

We walk beneath the same wide sky,

sometimes speaking, sometimes silent—

each presence a lantern,

each difference a gift.

The moon does not ask the sea to be still;

it simply reflects what is there,

and in that patient light,

we learn the shape of belonging.
