harder to fathom resignation to passivity

purpose the enduring riddle to solve.

Solemnly I have come to realise

judge and warden clothed the same

motion stalled: passion doused, spirit tame

certainty of any form - the greater prize.

Soulless actions default; a life gutted

bound by misdeeds, many imagined

or long lost desires still envisioned

rallying cries regretfully never uttered.

Once promise of far fields held sway

renewed curiosity the key to my fate

salve to crushing inertia - rust and decay

simple shift in aspect can unlock gate.
